Our practice is based on modern Evidence-Based-Medicine, derived from systematic clinical studies, to help us make decisions about each patient's care.

We make a point of using a state-of-the-art technical platform that meets our objectives. With this in mind, AZ Ophthalmologie is a fully computerized practice.

Dr Abou Zeid performs the most common surgical procedures on the anterior segment of the eye, including traumatology.

Depending on the patient's needs, cataract surgery can be performed using the femtosecond laser (RTS link), the latest technological advance in cataract surgery, which enables certain stages of the surgery to be automated.

In current practice, microincision and ultrasound are the rule. For patients who meet certain criteria, we offer multifocal implants for distance and near vision, as well as toric implants to correct astigmatism. For the latter, we use a modern, microscope-integrated implant alignment system, the latest technology for reliable positioning of intraocular implants.

Glaucoma surgery is performed using the deep sclerectomy or trabeculectomy technique, depending on the needs of each individual patient. Laser treatment is also part of the treatment platform, as are a range of latest-generation implants for lowering intraocular pressure.

Surgery is performed either in Geneva at the Clinique MV Santé Champel (link) or Clinique La Colline (link), or in Lausanne at MV Santé Rhodanie (link), depending on the patient's place of residence and the equipment required for the surgery.

All three operating theatres are very recent, and feature state-of-the-art procedures and equipment, in particular operating microscopes, enabling surgery to be carried out in the safest possible conditions for both operator and patient.
