Glaucoma Glaucoma is a pathological increase in intraocular pressure.
Glaucoma is the term used to describe a variety of eye diseases that have a common and very sad result, if they are not recognized and treated in time:
They destroy the optic nerve.
Glaucoma often progresses without symptoms. When the affected person becomes aware of a loss of visual function, the damage to the optic nerve is already far advanced. Damage caused by glaucoma can almost never be reversed.

Cataract This is a clouding of the lens of the eye, is called cataract in medical terminology and is easily treatable with surgery.
With cataracts, the patient notices for himself that something is wrong with his eyes due to a progressive deterioration of vision.
A patient with cataract goes to the ophthalmologist on his own initiative because of the deterioration of vision.
After cataract surgery, the patient can often see amazingly well again.
