Porta Pierre (Lausanne)

General ophthalmology, all eye diseases (including age-related macular degeneration, cataracts and glaucoma), orthoptics (strabismus in adults and children, detection of eye problems in children, possibility of having glasses made directly at the practice by an optician (Swiss diploma). Contact lens fitting by Dr. Porta (member of the European Society of Ophthalmologists and Contact Lens Fitters), enabling correction not only of myopia or hyperopia, but also astigmatism and presbyopia, using made-to-measure contact lenses. Contact lens fitting covered by health insurance.

In addition to French, Dr. Porta speaks English, German and Italian.

Dr. Porta trained as both a pharmacist (graduated in Lausanne in 1986) and a physician (graduated in Lausanne in 1992). Doctorate in Medicine from the Institute of Clinical Pharmacology at the Inselspital in Berne (Prof. Lauterburg). Training in ophthalmology and ophthalmic surgery at the Jules Gonin Ophthalmic Hospital in Lausanne, the Ophthalmology Department of the Cantonal Hospital in Geneva and the Ophthalmology Department of the Cantonal Hospital in Fribourg (1993-1999).

The practice operates with two full-time medical secretaries (one of whom is fluent in Portuguese), an orthoptician (who is also fluent in Portuguese and English) and an optician.

We have state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment (visual field, OCT, angiography, GDx, endothelial counting (corneal analysis)) and laser treatment for certain ocular pathologies (SLT laser, Yag laser).

Monday-Friday 08h00-12h00 / 13h30-18h00

FROM AUGUST 15, 2019: OPENING OF A SECONDARY PRACTICE IN PALEZIEUX-VILLAGE, GRAND-RUE 3B (replacing the Châtel-St-Denis practice closed on April 1, 2019) with ophthalmological consultations including contact lens fitting (Thursdays) and orthoptic consultations, including ophthalmopediatric consultations (Thursdays and Friday mornings).
