What is Low Vision?

**Low vision includes visual impairments that cannot be corrected with eyeglasses, contact lenses, or surgery alone. These impairments can happen to people of any age, but mostly to older people.

In addition to a significant reduction in visual acuity (visual acuity), the perception of weak contrasts, the visual field, glare or even a reduced color perception play a central role.

Through a well-founded anamnesis (determination and solution of the individual situation), a significant improvement in visual perception can be achieved with the help of special optical aids, such as magnifying glasses, magnifier systems, edge filters or screen readers.
